A SaaS landing page has one job: turn a stranger into a signup. The median converts at 3.8%, but the gap between median and great is mostly craft, not luck. These practices close it.

Lead with the outcome, not the feature

Your hero should name the result the user wants in their words, not describe your product's mechanics. "Ship a live website from one sentence" beats "AI-powered generative web platform."

Pair the headline with a single, obvious call to action. Two competing CTAs cut conversion — pick the one action you want and remove the rest.

Show, then tell

A short product visual — a real screenshot or a tight animation of the core loop — outperforms paragraphs of copy. Let visitors see the value before they read about it.

Social proof close to the CTA (logos, a number, a quote) reduces the risk of clicking. Keep it specific and true.

Remove friction from signup

Every required field costs you signups. Ask for the minimum, offer social login, and defer everything else to onboarding.

Measure one funnel: visit → signup → first value. Optimize the worst step, then re-measure.

FAQ

How long should a SaaS landing page be?

As long as it needs to answer the visitor's objections — but the hero alone should make the value obvious in five seconds.
